Barbara started on Permax when Parlodel seemed to do little for her. She
started in October at a very low doseage and worked her way up at one (.25)
additional per week until she reached 14. It never seemed to do much. From
the very beginning - the first pill - she had episodes of an inability to
speak or eat that lasted anywhere from 20-30 minutes to several hours. It was
attributed to need for more, although we wonder if it was too much. She has
been cutting back on the Permax very slowly since May and is now down to 7
without any seeming adverse effects. She still has the episodes of speech
loss and inability to eat. They occur about 1 -2 hours after taking her
medication and are accompanied by a significant drop in blood pressure.

Barbara is 69. Also on Eldypryl and Sinemet and Sinemet CR.
