Like, thanks for the reply, Ken, eh?  American companies seem to
be paranoid.  They think that when you lay someone off, they will
blow up the building, so they just fire the person on the spot,
and escort him out the door.  Canadian companies never do that,
they give the person the required notice, and make him work
during the whole notice period.  Anyway, this is all just from my
own experience.  I have worked in Records Management for the past
10 years.  All big companies seem to be the same in one way,
their purpose of existance is to make money for the stockholders
and management.  The working person does not get to share in the
profits.
