        Thanks for the insightful post. Take it from me, it's just as frustrating
not being able to understand what someone is saying when you love them and
want to be able to talk with them! I feel awful telling Dad to slow down (his
words run into each other) and saying "Could you repeat?" At first, Dad was
in denial about his voice fading (and I think about the PD too), and in fact
was telling everyone that he was talking loud enough, it was THEIR hearing.
We said OK, Mom does have hearing loss (she wears two hearing aids), but the
rest of us have hearing that's just fine (I get mine tested yearly at school,
the nurse does it for free). After hearing that several times, Dad finally
started saying "I just can't talk anymore". It was really sad! But, thank
goodness that you shared your collagen experiences with the list! Only 25
more days! Trish
