        Thank goodness for people like your friend who was one of the original
levidopa patients! At least her doctors learned from her and now others
benefit from what she went through.
        As for the natural vs drugs, I've always been convinced that there is a
reason why the drugs were developed in the first place: because the vitamins
do not have the same effect the drugs do. The drugs were developed
specifically to help with the illness, while vitamins must be given in just
the right combination and then there's no guarantee that they'll work. In the
case of levidopa, it's a chemical that replaces a chemical that is missing in
the brain (which helps the brain to function). Vitamins just aren't that
specific! Trish
