Charlie, I can't say too much - mostly a lurker as it is my father who is the
pwp, but I can readily see one thing clearly: you may not be able to practice
as you once did, but the practice you are in here on this list is extremely
valuable to us all. It is most important. Your responses are wise and caring.

I imagine you are as wonderful a doctor to have in person as on here. God
bless.

I need also to ask a question of all of you, Charlie in particular because he
mentioned it in a post to someone else. Do any of you use Clozaril? What is
it and what is it for? My father takes that with Prozac and Sinemet and now,
Mirapex. Every time he ups his dosage of Mirapex, he has serious problems.
He feels very upset and nervous and just "not right". Should he be cutting
his Sinemet? The first time he took the Mirapex, he was great. His doctor
siad if 2 halves work well, go to 2 whole pills. He did - with horrendous
results. And now he can't get back to where he was. On top of that, my
mother has had a retinal tear and has lost central vision in one eye. No
driving, gardening, etc. She is bugging him to drive, etc. This I know is
not good - he was always a nervous type, so when he is nervous now, he is
REALLY nervous. So, what does this Clozaril do? It's been a big production
for him - blood work every week and all that. Has interefered with their
few trips.

To Carole who posted about halllucinations: Yes, people get them from the
meds sometimes. My mother's brother had awful ones. We used to give him
a pill holiday and then he would be fine. Maybe someone more knowledgeable
could comment.
