My husband does not have PD, but does have sleep apnea.  He needs a
respirator called a c-pap on his face when he sleeps.  Before he was
diagnosed he continually stopped breathing during the night and never got a
decent night's sleep, although he didn't know that's why he was always so
tired.  When you have it you never get into a deep sleep because you are
always waking up enough to start breathing again, although you don't wake up
completely.
