Mary ( I'm sorta glad you were still awake ) Friends, What an evening! I went with a friend to speak with Rep Frank Riggs in Orick, CA. I was the first speaker and had fun. I told him that HR 1260 needs to be passed. I spoke of some of the latest findings and said that we need a cure now. I also told him that I am 48 and have had symptoms for nearly 8 years. This is not a disease of "old people" only, and with the "graying of the baby boomers" it should be noted that 1 in each 10 people who live beyond 60 Will have PD. He responded, as expected, that congress should not make NIH bills disease specific. I hit him back with the diabetes bill. He said yes they were trying to be less disease specific, however it was not working. Then I said that since he as a committee member could help to move the bill to the floor, where we have half+ of the Senate and about half of the House co-sponsoring the bill, even if he was not. He asked one of his aides to make note for him and he would help. I called Mary Y. and told her that he will be in Windsor, CA on Thursday of this week. Pan has an office in Santa Rosa, CA, 15 minutes from Windsor. Hopefully someone will get him again this week. I am flying and now I think I will bask in the afterglow. don't forget how to laugh Marling [log in to unmask] or [log in to unmask]
