Dementia similar to Alzheimer's' can occur with PD. Dementia however can be confused with depression aggravated by PD meds (especially if there are hallucinations. Also reversible causes of dementia must be considered- such as normal pressure hydrocephalus which presents as dementia, broad based gate and incontinence. This can be diagnosed with a CAT Scan or MRI. Some docs are using the new Alzheimer's drug for PD. > 2.
