Hi all listmembers!
I am 47, male, and was diagnosed PD a year ago and started with the
following medication: Eldepryl, Permax and Madopar. The effect of the
medication is not as good as I expected it to be. There are i
sideeffects. I do not feel hunger anymore, I have lost more than 10 kg i
one year. I often feel dizzy. I am only sleeping 5-6 hours pr night, I
slept 7-8 hours before medication. Slow movments are my biggest problem.
Everything I do takes much longer time than before and that is a big
problem in my work.
I am educated nurse anestesist and perfusionist(run the
heart-lung-machine). In my work as perfusionist at The National
Hospital, the Heart Center, Copenhagen Denmark, I run the heart-lung
machine to all kinds of heart operations, also transplantations. We
also do emergency cases. I often have to react quick and I am under
constant pressure. If I get very stressed I start to tremble on my
hands, and then it is extremly difficult to do my work. Do any of you
know what to do to reduce stress reactions (trembling)?
What do you do to react faster (about slow movements)?
Most the time I do not have any problems with my parkinson. My hobby is
my sommerhouse where I am creating an alpine garden. I breed plants from
seeds. Do any of you know about a seed company sending over-seas?
My last question: With PD,is it safe to drive a car?
If any og you have questions about heart operations, I would be happy to
answer! You are wellcome to E-mail me privat.
I look forward to hear from you!
Hallvard.
PS. I read english better than I wright, hope you understand me.
