In a message dated 97-09-01 13:57:59 EDT, you write: << If you are getting the hives on your feet, I would be curious about the footware you use, unless you get them in other places on your body. >> Yes, unfortunately they show up everywhere! Only one or two at a time because they are what's known as "giant" hives. Sometimes I'll wake up with my eye swollen shut! (this one particularly bothers my husband because to the general public I look abused!) The only causes the drs, and I have been able to pinpoint are pressure(as in tight shoes), and changes in hormone levels! Also sometimes I know chocolate will affect me, tho' not always, and also red wine. I call them "crazy bumps", you can see why. The person with the burning itching toes should notice whether the itch comes from within, or on top of the skin. My allergic itch and swelling comes from deep within...so when you scratch you really have to get "deep" in order to feel it! I think it makes a difference in what type of meds would be prescribed...because no amount of ointment could help my hives. Sue, daughter of Rocky
