Donna et al-

I am a psychiatrist and have used virtually all of the antidepressants
clinically. Nefazodone (Serzone) came out toward the end of my active
practice. I was not impressed regarding the efficacy of the drug which
I used as a second or third line drug when other drugs had failed.
Therefore My sample was skewed with mainly treatment resistant patients
getting the drug from me. It apparently is similar to trazodone which I
never felt was a good antidepressant in doses that patients were able to
tolerate. (Sedation is a significant problem). I believe that was a
problem for some of my patients with Serzone as well. I am not aware of
any advantages that Serzone has over the others.
