Admittedly the amino acids obtained from the metabolism of all protein
products are potential sources of interference to the action of L-dopa.  A
maximum of 7 gm. of protein is recommended in the literature from the various
PD support groups, but the RDA (Required Daily Allowance) for proteins is
about  0.36 gm./lb. of body weight or from 30 to 60 gm.
How then is the recommended 7 gm  reconciled with the RDA?  what does one
substitute for protein that is ubiquitous in most food staples?
