Dear Debbie! I'm (also) a male hospital nurse, 47, with PD. I started with Eldepryl aug. 96 and in sept. 96 I started with Permax too. Throughout the autum I got more and more nervous with internal shaking. But I would not give up to early, and in the end of the year it was really bad. In dec.96 I started with Madopar(levodopa) and I got slowly better. I do have some minor sideeffects af the meds, and I suspect Permax to be the problem. There are also problems with Eldepryl, also mental problems are registered. Dizzy, redused appetite, it just feel unpleasant an hour or two after taking the meds. It feels better than I eat fruit/ drink juice. But remember that you will allways run into some problems if you change the meds. And do not accept new sideeffects without confering your mothers neuro. have a nice day Hallvard
