I am 59 yrs. old 12+ yrs parkinsons I have tried almost all fda approved
meds
to improve my pd symptoms and avoid the disabling affects of long term
use
Sinemet. I followed Pallidotomy Surgery reports for quite some time and
discovered
that this operation offered significant relief for my uncontrolled
movements,wreathing
and tight muscles.

My neurologist referred me to Neurosurgery at the University of Minnesota
where a
bi level pallidotomy was recommended. I had one side done in February
of 96 and
the other side in October of 96. These surgeries resulted in significant
improvement
Almost eliminating all uncontrolled movements. giving me back better
mobility and balance

I'm now in my 7th week on merapex.I "m getting longer on times but
haven't realized
much help on being able to reduce my sinemet. My sinemet dose is still at
looo to
1200 mg a day

I've been a reader of the Parkinson digest for some time mow thanks to a

for sharing your
experiences. don't give up,find a cure.
