I've been diagnose for a bit over two years.
Because I work full time (8:30 - 6:30) I take
My meds mainly during those hours.
I have chosen not to attempt to be on 24 hours a day.
Therefore I am off from around 6 or 7 PM until midnight.
I am currently taking sinemet (25/100 x 4) eldepryl (5mg x 2)
parlodel (2.5mg x 3) and sinemet cr (50/200 x 1) each day.
The gets rid of the tremor so I can sleep.
My med schedule starts at 6:00am when I take .5 tab sinemet, 1 eldepryl,
and .5 of a parlodel. I then take .5 tab sinemet every 1.5 hours until
4:30. I take the second eldepryl at noon and the parlodel is spread
throughout out the day.
>From what I have read, I get the impression that this schedule is unusual,
that everyone else is on most of the day while I must use the majority of
my meds to remain functional at work. Don't get me wrong, I want to
continue working as long as possible (I'm only 46 *grin*). But it is
frustrating to not have some up time for myself
(not to mention KG) at the end of the day. My neuro says I'm on the low end
of the dosage scale, but I've nothing to compare it to.
Am I way off base with this schedule? It does keep me fairly level at work
and lets me sleep (usually) at night. but there are days when both of us
find dealing with the off time is difficult (that's life :)). I'm hoping
the new (powered) chair will take some of the stress away. Bye the way, the
powered chair is needed in part because I was in a chair prior to PD. The
PD has just made life more, shall we say, interesting ;)
