I've just posted a question to the list (in a seperate mail), but I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Adele Szilardi, I live in Berkeley, CA. My mother-in-law in Boston was diagnosed with PD about 6 years ago. I don't know very much about PD (one of the reasons I joined this list!). My mother-in-law's doctor began trying different types of medications on her this summer and then left for an extended vacation with no one to back him up! My poor MIL started having hallucinations and really impaired motor control, difficulty reading. She was actually visiting us when it started to get bad, and although being around her grandchildren made her feel a lot better, she went home still feeling wierd. Finally a friend helped her find another doctor who is actually a PD specialist (her previous doctor was a neurologist, but not a PD specialist). She's feeling much better now, but the experience made me want to know more about what is going on so that I can (maybe?) help her. I spoke with her this afternoon and she is really looking forward to reading prinouts of the discussions on this list. A friend of her's has said that she would love to read aloud to her, if she can't read them herself. I wish she could get on-line and talk with you all directly, but we have a technophobe hurdle to get over first ;-) Maybe on our next visit East (she actually does have a Macintosh at home, but I don't think she's ever used it.). Thanks, Adele ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Adele Szilardi Berkeley, CA mailto:[log in to unmask]
