>>Does anyone know whether there are directions available to parking garages
near Central Park? Thanks

There is a garage on East 76th just off of 5th Ave. (4 blocks from the 72nd
St entrance closest to the Bandshell) that runs a special on Saturday:
$9.98 for up to10 hours. After tax it's about $12.

On E.73rd off of 5th Ave is a garage that runs a similar weekend special;
$15 for 12 hours including tax.

In NYC East is Even numbers and West is Odd.

An alternative is to park in a lower rent district and taking public
transportation to the site. The Port Authority Bus Terminal used to be
pretty cheap and connects to subway lines.

This year the business end of the walk will be 'front-loaded'. Meaning we
will schedule most of our speeches and activities for the 10:30 AM thru
12:00 Noon pre-walk Registration time. Aside from brief concluding remarks
the apre-Walk will be almost talk-free.

Come early for the following:

Stretching / light exercise and Tai-Chi demonstrations.

"Ask the Neurologist" desk with staff from Beth Israel Hospital & Columbia
Presbyterian

Parkinson's Advocacy Table (resources, petitions, information)

String Bank for Parkinson's Awareness (The Ball of String is now IN the Big
Apple)

Face Painting, Tatoo and Bubble Booth for the kids of all ages (sorry, no
body piercing)

Live Jazz with the Herman Foster Quintet at the Band Shell from 10:30AM
thru 12:30.

Jazz/rock with Kings In Disguise from 12:30 till 2:00PM

Coffee & Bagels in the AM, Cookies and snacks in the afternoon.

There will be large tents to house the festivities in the unlikely event of
r---.

Remember to PRE-REGISTER! There is still time to fax your registration in
to 212 496 8639.

see you Saturday, 9/27
