Thanks for all the feedback re: wheelchairs and other tools of the trade and physical and occupational therapists. Mom fell three times in 24 hours so I'm beginning to get that this is an emergency and even she is eager for any assistance including possibly a wheelchair. I had the joy of spending much of the day maneuvering through managed care long distance. However at the end of the day (literally) it seems the primary care physician's assistant will try in the AM to quickly schedule a visiting PT or OT home assessment to see exactly what kind of equipment and training and therapy would help.
