Hi, Everyone, Katherine Holden gave a fairly good description of the warmth shown to Parklist visitors to the Perth Conference. It was a pretty interesting experience actually meeting people in Perth whose contributions I had been reading on the list as well as those I had a chance to 'chat' with on the Parkinsons chat channel. I found that the people I met were fairly close in personality to the way I imagined them. It was very easy to talk to each other and we felt instantly comfortable with them. It started when Mary Thompson and I met John Cottingham and Liz Butler in Melbourne on the day we were to all fly out to Perth together. In Perth, we were able to arrange several social get togethers and tours of Perth and Freemantle with other list members. It almost felt as if we were visiting family. John and Robyn Lochore are coming out to Melbourne in a few weeks, and we intend to get together again. It's a great to be able to visit other states and countries and know you're going to meet up with other people who will understand the particular peculiarites we Parkies can't escape from even when we travel. I'm going to try to write a piece on my presentation of 'Parkinson's and the Internet' which I'll probably call something like "The Perils of a Parkie Presenter in Perth." It would be an understatement to say that it did not run very smoothly, and I'd like to try to find some humour out of what was at times a stressful situation. Best Wishes, Celia Jones
