>From personal experience, hitting a carpeted floor hurts about as much as a wooden floor. both are preferable to tile if you are on them any length of time. I prefer wood. carpet gets hot after just a few minutes and tile looks horrible at close range. In addition, a wheelchair on carpet is tiring and is to be avoided. Marvin Giles
