I kept waiting for someone else to respond re: generic drugs and side effects..... I cannot take generic Sinemet........I was on regular sinemet for three years when the pharmacist filled my rx with generic because he was temporarily out of the regular stuff.......I thought nothing of this change. However, three weeks later, I had my personal "treasures" gathered in a corner with me sitting guard and anxiety enough for forty folks.........took only 48 hours on regular sinemet to be back in controll...........I was not the one who recognized the change, thought of the generic sinemet nor made the decision to switch the drugs......I was not capable of making a decision (I was too busy guarding my possessions.) I am aware of three others with similar response to generic. At the same time, I have friends who are unable to take the "regular" stuff and use generic successfuly all the time. (Interestingly, I can only take Levoxyl (generic form of synthroid for my hypothyroidism).........it may be a try and see case for some of you other folks too. Rita Weeks
