Dear PD Advocates, On Monday, the House passed a Continuing Resolution (CR) that will continue funding the Departments of Labor, Health & Human Services, Education and related agencies at 1997 levels until October 23, 1997. Between now and then the Labor/HHS conference committee will complete its work on the FY 1998 Appropriations bill which hopefully will contain the Udall Bill that appears in the Senate version. There was no meeting of the House/Senate Conferees today (10/1/97). The House and Senate will adjourn @ 2:00 today and return on Monday (10/6). However no meetings of the Conferees have yet been scheduled for next week. It appears that they may reconvene on Tuesday(10/7). I will provide additional updates as warranted.
