(ASIDE: This is the third time I've tried to send this email and it's been
returned each time by the MSN auto-email system. AAAAAAAARGH!)

Late last week I posted an invitation here on the List inviting anyone reading

it who'd be in the Los Angeles area on October 4 (today) to feel free to drop
by a restaurant where members of my PD support group and another local PD
support group were getting together for dinner.

This had been a spur-of-the-moment event I'd suggested at our monthly meeting
which had been held a few days prior to my posting the message on the List.
I had no idea if anyone'd actually show up since I'd casually tossed out the
original invitation to the group as people were leaving (would've mentioned it

earlier, but didn't think of dinner out till the end of the meeting). Still,
I wanted to give it a try and planned on showing up at the restaurant in the
anticipation of SOMEONE deciding to join me.

To my surprise, we ended up with 9 people attending and it was FUN! AND one
of those people was from our List Family!

It was a real pleasure to welcome and meet List member Brian Beckwith,
visiting L.A. from Dubuque, Iowa... which is reputed to be in the Midwest.
<smile> AND has a lotta corn growin' all over. Glad ya joined us tonite,
Brian!

Ohhhh... uhhh..... and I found out tonite how easy it is to forget names and
to suddenly lose the ability of carrying on a lucid conversation when your
mind's turned to mush after taking twice as strong a dose of Sinemet as ya
usually do! <blush> Boy... did I feel stupid when I realized I'd forgotten to
break the tablet in half before scarfing it down!

BTW... I found it interesting that while PD did come up in the conversation,
it wasn't the only thing we discussed. There IS life after Parkinson's! And
who knows but next month we might not just up and take in a movie together?
<smile>
