Thank you for welcoming me to the list, Barbara. I joined the
parkinson's list because my 81 year old grandfather has pd and is having
more and more problems as time goes on. From what I understand from my
aunt, he hardly sleeps anymore and thinks that the disease has gotten
into his legs. He already has the hand shaking and that bothers him
enough. He's a very prideful man and with his legs getting worse
(besides pd, he's had knee surgery three times), he refuses to use a
cane or any other walking aid. What concerns me the most, and what I'd
like information about, is that he's seeing a gp instead of a specialist
and the whole family would like him to find someone else. His current
doctor is considered a quack by the whole family, but we're not sure
where to turn for my grandfather. He likes a doctor in my aunt's area,
but it's three hours one way from his home. I would like to get, if I
could, any information anyone might have on doctors who know about pd in
the Marion or Columbus, OH area.

Any information on where to find a doctor for my grandfather would be
greatly appreciated. I can only do so much for him as I am in
California. But I would like to pass on this info to my aunt. I've
also sent her the information on the website where I found this list, so
hopefully, together, we can come up with something for him.

Thanks for any and all help you can give us.

Sincerely,

Julia
