hi siblings i think it's interesting that two diametrically opposed viewpoints appeared on the list spontaneously within minutes of each other in response to the same post from bruce i hate and abide any kind of prejudice race-ist sex-ist age-ist faith-ist size-ist height-ist eye-colour-ist however for real prejudice to be real prejudice i believe an essential aspect is absolutely no humour allowed bruce said that he was looking to start a controversy [since we all seem to enjoy them and miss them when the list gets quiet] so from my point of view his post was playful and teasing and very much tongue-in-cheek i use the term 'girls' all the time in the same way for balance, i also use the term 'boys' in the same way the terms 'native' and 'chief' could refer to any region of the world not just africa and not just people of non 'wasp' origin bruce's joke was set in the amazon region but it could just as easily been set in the highlands of scotland i would have found it just as funny because i perceived his intention as teasing and not hurtful in any way shape or form your cyber-cys janet [log in to unmask]
