Whitie and John, I wanted to get my 2 cents in regarding John's recommendation of Breggin's book especially without balancing it out with Peter Kramer's book "Listening to Prozac". Peter Breggin has made a career (as a psychiatrist) by bashing virtually every pharmacological advance in psychiatry in the past 20 years. Read what he has to say but take it in that context. Kramer comes from the point of view of a psychotherapist who discovered the value of antidepressants in by using them with his patients. PROZAC IS A GOOD DRUG BUT HAS NO PARTICULAR ADVANTAGE OVER OTHER ssri'S, I prefer Zoloft and take it myself but different drugs in the same class for some reason appear to be more effective or have different side effect profiles in different individuals. If one antidepressant fails or is not tolerated it is reasonable to try another (carefully and with a physician's supervision). Good luck, Charlie John Morey wrote: > > At 06:38 AM 10/11/97 -0400, WHITIE wrote: > > >I am interested in hearing more about your success with PROZAC. > >can you tell me how long it took to see results, and how much she > >is taking ?
