Hello Ann

and welcome to the lists(s) - have you also joined the CARE list for caregivers? It sounds like you and Tom have your hands full, so you've come to a good "place" for info and - especially - encouraging friends.

There must surely be some support groups for PeopleWithParkinson's and/or their caregivers in Charleston; have you found any yet? If not, ask the list!

I'm wondering whether Tom is seeing a neurologist who specializes in PD? It's SUCH a complicated disease that a neurology generalist generally is not very effective at treating it.

Sure can identify with you on the depression and balance issues! So the next question is: is Tom getting treatment for the depression? It's a common part of PD because dopamine affects mood as well as muscles, and most people get relief via the newer antidepressant meds, not to mention the relief their loved ones get.

Hang in there, ask all you want, and let us know how you're doing.
