Geee.... all this talk of tomatoes inspired me to make up a batch of spaghetti sauce from scratch for dinner this evening - very "tomato-y" with lotsa veggies and ground turkey rather than beef (don't eat much beef, tho love a good filet mignon every once in a while). All afternoon the wonderful rich smell of the tomato-y, garlic-y, full-of-spices-and-herbs simmering sauce made me eager for supper! Then I sat down to dinner, sprinkled freshly grated Parmesan cheese on top of the picture-perfect plate of spaghetti.... and sat there... and SAT there.... staring at the darn thing wondering if it was OK to eat it since it was SO chock full of tomatoes! <grinning> THANKS ERNIE!! <NOT!> (giggle) P. S.... it was DEEEEEElicious! <BIG smile> Barb Mallut [log in to unmask] ---------- From: Parkinson's Information Exchange on behalf of Bob & Joy Graham Sent: Sunday, November 02, 1997 6:18 PM To: Multiple recipients of list PARKINSN Subject: Re: Tomatoes and PD Ernie Peters wrote: >I have seen little, if anything, on the subject of tomatoes and PD. >However, in checking the detailed daily >diary that we keep, I was trying to see reasons for differences in my >condition on different days. Ernie, I have a friend who says that tomato paste turns her right "off" She has experimented with pasta with no paste, and is convinced it is the paste which adversely affects her. keep up the investigations... I wonder if Kathrynne Holden could add anything about this? Joy Graham
