Hi everyone. I e-mailed the list a while ago about my grandfather in
Marion, OH that has PD. Now it seems that my father-in-law here in so
cal has some suspicious shaking in his right hand and I wanted to ask
everyone what they think of what he's told me. some of these same
problems are ones that my grandfather has mentioned having:

1. Off and on shaking in his right hand.

2. Waking frequently during the night to go to the bathroom, causing
lack of sleep.

3. Doctor (general practitioner) has prescribed medication to stop the
urination problem and wants to see him in about five weeks, but no test
for pd has been scheduled.

4. Suffers from intestinal problems such as constipation, heartburn,
and reactions to foods such as corn, nuts, and caffeine.

I realize that the intestinal problems could be caused by any number of
problems, however, I was curious if there are people with PD that suffer
from them as a result of the PD.

I have some questions related to the symptoms I've listed:

1. Are there other problems/medical conditions that can cause erratic
shaking of a person's limbs?

2. Is frequent urination actually a symptom of PD?

3. I don't know the name of the medication the doctor has prescribed
for the urination problem, however, I'm curious if such drugs could
complicate the other symptoms if he actually has PD?

4. Do any other PD patients suffer from intestinal problems and are
they related to the PD?

5. Do GP's generally catch PD correctly or should he be seeing a
specialist?

Any and all information that anyone can give me regarding what I've
listed above would be greatly appreciated. I may very well be jumping
the gun on this, but I'd rather be safe than sorry!

Thanks so much!

Julia.
