Well! This was a hard one!

I FINALLY found

http://dem0nmac.mgh.harvard.edu/neurowebforum/GeneralFeedbackArticles/SomeinformationonBinswangers.h,
where someone responding to a query says

"Binswanger's Disease is a type of dementia also known as subcortical arteriosclerotic encephalopathy.

This means that there is brain damage (encephalopathy) of the deeper parts of the brain
(subcortical) caused by poor blood flow through diseased arteries (arteriosclerotic).

I got this info from an article by R Kinkel et al called "subcortical arteriosclerotic encephalopathy
(Binswanger's Disease") published in Archives of Neurology, vol 42, pp 951 - 959, 1985. "

Sounds similar to Alzheimers??

Hope this helps. Mary
