Hi Skip.... and a warm welcome to ya. Errrrrr... I think ya mean Dr. Iacono at Loma Linda, right? If so, while Dr. I still performs the surgeries at Loma Linda University Hospital, he has recently gone into private practice. He assisted Dr. Gary Heit of Stanford University (after training Dr. Heit to do the procedure while Dr. Heit was at Loma Linda on a fellowship) in doing my unilateral pallidotomy on Oct. 24, 1994. The surgery was performed on the left side of my head in order to get rid of PD symptoms on the right side of my body. I can't speak for anyone else, however, this procedure gave me back full range of motion on my right side. Not a day goes by that I'm not thankful for having it done. The PD has begun on my left side recently, but that hasn't affected the right side at all. I think the world of Dr. Heit and Dr. Iacono! I'm new to this list, and am just learning how to use this computer. I was diagnosed with PD 3 years ago, and I'm hoping that this list will help me understand more about it. I read a little bit about the pallidotomy work done by Dr. I at Los Lomas. It sounds too good to be true. Does it work? Thanks, Skip
