LANIER, I read your message about ELAVIL and am trying to understand why your DR. recommended this drug. I have taken ELAVIL until recently as an antidepressant alternating with ATIVAN. As of last week, my neuro spoke with me about ELAVIL. It takes about three weeks to build up sufficient quantities to make it work. (BTW, it does nothing for tremor except to bring you down just a little). On the other hand, ATIVAN not only brings down the anxiety of PD but also acts as a mild muscle relaxant. Im not hooked on the ATIVAN but I do take one every morning about 9AM about 45 minutes before I usually get a muscle attack. (we cant figure out why it happens almost on schedule) As your dr. about these matters. Of course what works for one PD'er might not be effective for another. Joyce
