I'm hoping this doesn't sound like an off the wall query, but I have so enjoyed my three days on the Parkinson's listserve and it has been so helpful, I thought I would give it a shot. My wife, who is 55, had a defibrillator implanted last fall after a very scary series of tachycardia. We almost lost her. Since the defibrillator was implanted she has two episodes of tachycardia, both of which were effectively dealt with by the defibrillator (thank goodness for the defibrillator). Needless to say, not knowing if and/or when her heart is going to try it again and she gets another jolt from the defibrillator is unnerving and has her in a fairly constant state of anxiety. She has seen how much assurance I am receiving from the Parkinson's list serve and has searched the net (as best we know how, but we are both computer dummies) for a similar group of people who share the experience of wearing implanted defibrillators. Can't find anything. Is anyone aware of anyplace on the net where people with ICD's can support each other? There probably aren't enough people out there with ICD's to warrant such a thing yet, but somebody may know of something. Thanks in advance for any help anyone has to offer. I am becoming addicted to this list serve. I'm supposed to have a full time job, but here I sit in my office, back on the list serve. Gotta get to work. Ken Nye, 55/2mos. Ken Nye [log in to unmask]
