When my husband was taking 1.5mg of Permax a day, the swelling was limited to his ankles. When his neurologist increased his dosage to 3.0mg a day, his legs swelled up along with redness on face and body. He has since gone back to 1.5mg/day. It does not appear the theraputic benefits of the drug is worth these side effects. Of course the only viable option is to increase the Sinemet intake. Helen
