Dale, I like your calendar idea but wonder if Janet Reno, the Pope, Billy Graham, etc. would give you permission to use their pictures, since they have distanced themselves from any mention of PD. Mohammed Ali would be a good start. but why does it have to be famous Parkies? Why not ordinary people with a short paragraph telling their story. The problem remains of what to picture. Do you picture people smiling, playing with their children or grandchildren, seemingly doing well. Might not that imply that we've all been cured and no longer need support? If we show people who are bedridden and in bad shape, no one will want to hang the calendar on the wall. It would be too depressing, and there goes our constant reminder. Perhaps we could show a pre-PD photo alongside a post-PD photo, with a plea to "Help change a life... Donate! " It would be great if the APDA would produce their calendar using some of our ideas. I was not impressed with their calendar this year. Their illustrations include: Jan - a snow scene; Feb - a squirrel; Mar - flamingoes; Apr - a mountain scene; May - orchids; Jun - a child in a dandelion patch; Jul - fireworks; Aug - a sailboat; Sept - a sunset; Oct - horses; Nov - mountain scenery; Dec - Christmas decorations in NYC. What does any of that have to do with PD? One other thought. How about paintings or photographs or poetry by PWP's? Give your input and maybe someone can approach APDA with a plan for next year's calendar. Mary
