>Decrease Senemet again to 1/2 25/100 tab 2X a day for two weeks. Then

Betty and John-- it's hard to say what the "correct "way is to start
REQuip, or any other med--partly because all PWPs are different in how they
react to the meds, and partly because no 2 neuros seem to do it exactly the
same (see reason #1 )

Is that what all of you have done?

There have been a variety of ways of introducing ReQuip mentioned on the
lists. InPeter's case, he was told to begin at about 1/3 the rate of
increase that was recommended by the mfgr. because he had had serious
problems with hallucination on Mirapex. His Sinemet was reduced by one
10/100 a day when he had a milder hallucination at the end of the first
week on ReQuip, and that has worked well. We are now starting his 7th week
on ReQuip, and he is just now increasing to 2 tabs (of .25mg) 3 X a day.
Some folks have gione at the suggested rate, others even faster! It has
been said by some that one should stick with it for at least 6 weeks (of
the regular dosages) before deciding it won't help. You may not have
misunderstood --that may just be his/her way of operating. But don't
hesitate to ASK if you have questions or problems--that what you're paying
for!

Second, have any of you experienced psychological problems when you
>started decreasing the Senemet?

In Peter's case, no. I should add he is depressed, but this isn't related
to the Sinemet reduction. Perhaops you need to be more specific, here or on
CARE, about the kind of problems you mean? Hope this, and other replies you
will no doubt get, will help.
