Dear Friends,

I am at my oldest daughter's in Anderson, South Carolina. she graduated
college on the 18th and we are staying for Christmas. She and her family
moved into a new house a couple of months ago. The house is out in the
country and so is very dark at night.

The first night we were there I got up to go to the bathroom and couldn't
see a thing. I wasn't too worried because I knew where the doors, etc. wer
in relationship to the bed. But when I tried to walk I couldn't move my
feet forward except for less than half an inch! I wondered what was wrong
and then remembered the visual clue phenomena whereby PWP can walk better
if they have lines perpendicular to their direction of travel. (This
phenomena was portrayed in the movie "Awakenings".)

I didn't think that the lines help me too much but never considered what
might happen with a total lack of visual clues. As I found out, without
any clues at all I was going nowhere fast. (It took me about 15 minutes to
travel the 30 feet to the bathroom.) The next night there was a night
light in the bathroom and I had no problems getting there at my normal
meds-off shuffle.

Has anyone else had an experience like this?
