Peter has been using generic Sinemet with no problems, for several years.
It is called "carbidopa-levodopa" by our supplier, Merck-Mecco (mail
order). He now uses the 10/100 tabs., but was also on 25/100 and 25 /250 at
various times. We are VERY lucky that our Aetna insurance (thru the Ohio
Public Retirement system) charges NOTHING for generic drugs of any kind...I
just sent in 3 RXs, and all     were FREE!  The price difference you
mention, however, is also good, and you may want to try the generic
form....some folks on the list in the past have had less positive
experiences,and said there might be a difference among generics, with some
working less well.
