There has been some postings that all the agonists are the same. This is true in terms of what they are trying to accomplish. However, our neurologist said that there are 5 D receptors in the brain and the D2 is the one directly associated with PD. Parlodel effects just the D2; Permax affects D1 and D2; Mirapex affects D2 and D5. Therefore I would conclude that there are subtle differences between the agonists and that if one does not work it is worth trying another. As far as Barbara is concerned, Permax and Parlodel did nothing for her - Mirapex has made a difference. Allanros
