Dear Ivan,
We missed your Nov survey questions.
The following info relates to my wife Aliza,74/3-
Aliza has been hospitalized three times in the last six
weeks because of huge drops in blood pressure.
We now know for sure that it is attributable to the dopicar
meds she is taking here in Israel. One dopicar pill consists
of 250mg of l-dopa and 25mg of carbidopa.
During this period she was taking a half pill at 8AM,noon,
4PM and 8PM.The worst drops occur in the morning and occasionally
in the early afternoon about one hour after taking the dopicar.
Here is some typical data.

17 Nov:Took half pill at 7:40AM,ate breakfast and at 8:35 AM felt very weak
and dizzy. At 8:37AM,her BP was 63/35 with pulse P=60.She didn't faint but felt
very weak and couldn't talk.At 9:00AM she felt somewhat recovered but had 70/37
with P=74.The following are subsequent blood pressures for that day.
9:45AM 122/56 76
1:40PM 134/78 80
4:30PM 172/66 94
6:30PM 194/89 100
8:45PM 11/48(after 8PM dopicar)
11:57PM 157/83

14 Dec:After 8:00AM dopicar
8:50AM 96/52 60 She was near collapse,very dizzy,incoherent,eyes closing,
finger tips blue,Began to come out of it at 9:10AM.
9:17AM 49/31 68
9:21AM 68/42 69
9:31AM 69/35 68
9:39AM 84/43 71
10:33AM 172/77 73
12:59PM 160/70 79
2:14PM 178/74 73
7:35PM 190/73

15 Dec:We decided to try six hour time intervals at 6 and 12 AM and PM.
6:50AM 126/61 73
7:47AM 149/61 72
1:03PM 184/85 76
2:57PM 183/74 76
No problems all day.

16 Dec with six hour intervals
6:15AM 183/79 81
6:50AM 86/49 76(Felt very dizzy)
7:42AM 126/59 79(Felt better)

Big drops have also been observed in the PM.

On 16 Nov,she took it at about 1:30PM
2:25PM 70/47 57
2:30PM Almost fainted
2:33PM 98/50 78
3:00PM 97/43 69
4:50PM 152/68 90
7:15PM !47/108 70
9:50PM !81/83 85

On Oct 23,she fainted but we were't monitoring her BP.

We are now trying one quarter pill every three hours to see if
this solves the problem.

We would be interested in sharing info with people who have had similar
experiences.
