 A whispered word

A whispered word, careless said,
swiftly as an arrow sped.
Sharper than the sharpest steal,
a wound thus caused may never heal.
Build a wall around the soul,
strong and tall to guard the whole.
From taunts and barbs the wall may keep,
inside a lonely soul will sleep.
With love and laughter your heart defend,
you'll be the stronger one, my friend.
