The Parkinson's Association of Western Australia (PAWA), in conjunction with the Royal Australian College of GP's and Parkinson's Australia, have recently released a 44 page book called "Parkinson's Disease - A General Practice Approach." This book was written for a GP audience, and is intended to be a handy reference for doctors who may only have a small number of Parkinson's patients in their practice. The text was written by a doctor, with close consultation with members of the local Parkinson's community in Western Australia. The manual has been mailed to 18,000 GP's in Australia and has been well received. Although it is written for doctors and does contain medical jargon, it has proved popular for non-doctors as well. The manual is available for Australian $15 (including postage).
