Delda...

I've been hearing on the news lately that the FCC approved some kind of
cost-raise and/or tax for ALL second phones, effective January 1, 1998, which
they presume are being used for business and/or online services.

Does this smell like a rat, or what? <GRRRRRRR!!> EVEN if eventually this
"legal scam" is knocked down when it goes to a higher court as an appeal (and
it IS being appealed vigorously!), that could take months.... even years. And
in the interim those of us with a second phone will either be forced to get
rid of that second phone or pay more to have it.

Does anyone on the PD List know about this possible added expense on our
telephone bills? I'd sure appreciate some more info. I plan to write the
FCC at the e-mail address provided, just in case... My husband and I sure do
not need another expense and you probably don't, either. Delda White

This was forwarded to me today. I can't verify this but it does sound
like something to look into. Isabel
