Joyce, I was very interested in reading your posting. My mother Joyce (68/11 months) was on Permax and Sinemet (and Paxil) and was experiencing difficulty breathing and a tightness in her chest. She and her doctor decided to take her off all drugs (this took awhile) for 2 weeks and then to start her up (slowly) on Requip only (at least for the time being). She still feels these symptoms -- especially within an hour of taking her Requip dose. She sometimes takes 2 aspirins and finds this helps (how, I don't know). She finds these problems worse than the bradykinesia and other PD symptoms. She's hoping that when she arrives at the optimal Requip dose, things will be better. Please keep me informed of your experiences. Stay well. Debbie White [log in to unmask] Seems I've exhausted the "official channels" of information so am turning to the folks who really know what's going on. Please help if you can.... My docor started to switch me from Permax to Requip on 1/3. Plan was to reduce Permax dosage in half while adding .25 Requip at recommended 3x daily dosage ...but I'm having more tremors than I've ever had and also difficulty breathing along with pressure feeling in chest. Called doctor - He didn't think it was either of medications - I had already called Smith Kline product information and found that there had been reports of chest pain - Doctor told me to stop Requip, wait 72 hours and see if breathing problems went away but to resume Permax at previous dosage. If pain persisted go to Internist and have lungs checked out. If pain gone call him back and ??? Today I only took 1 Requip and resumed the usual dosage of Permax (+ Sinemet CR) Problems are presisting. Does anyone out there have information or similar experiences? If so, what did you do? Thanks for any help. Joyce C. Waldron 55/15
