Dear List:
A sad note in today's Portland Press Herald, as the obituaries had =
Adeline Fleischer listed. After being diagnosed with PD in 1974 she =
tried to garner interest for a local support group. Eventually, with =
the help of her daughter, Jeri Brem she succeeded in holding monthly =
meetings. "She tried everything to prolong her life in a positive =
way,'' said her daughter. "We always had a large turnout."

I did not know Mrs. Fleischer personally, but as a fellow PD sufferer, I =
feel saddened when a person who share this affliction passes. It is a =
Parkisonian's unique struggle with a disease that can be so humbling and =
humiliating. We alone truly know what kind of inner strength it takes =
to battle the neverending myriad of symptoms. Knowing there are others =
out there that we can share our common or unique experiences with has a =
calming influence on me. The trevails we face surely can be endured if =
we continue our dialogue of shared experiences with just the right =
amount of self-deprication and humor. Parkinson's Disease surely is the =
enemy, but, I am honored to be a part of the list. =20
Best Regards,
Greg Leeman [log in to unmask]
