My father is in Subacute now, working on PT and OT (and improving). As posted previously, he has been doing well since being switched to Sinimet 25/250 3x per day. Not being able to leave well enough alone, the doc decided to add a fourth dose of Sinimet 25/250 at 8:30 PM. His reasoning is that there is too long a gap between the last dose (about 5:30) and the first dose in the morning -- he feels Dad becomes too stiff during the night (possibly causing some incontinence), and it takes him too long in the morning to regain his flexibility. The results are predictable...Dad sounds like his mind is racing, the nights have again become difficult, and while he is still much better than he was mentally, he is not as sharp as he was before they added the fourth dose. His limit right now seems to be around 750 mg per day of dopamine. Should I push (again) for changing the Sinimet to 1/2 tablet 6x per day? Other suggestions? Mark Klapper
