Hi Sheila,
You have allready received some good advice for sleep problems. I would
like to add my two cents worth. Temazepam is a hypnotic sleeping med
(rest-o-rill) and is habit forming so should be avoided except for very
short term use. And a hypnotic trance which you are in after taking this
drug is NOT sleep. I have learned this the hard way. Also most people
have rebound insominia after taking it. It takes me a week to get it
out of my system.
And in my case I had to give up caffene in all forms and did not start
sleeping better for three days after I stopped the coffee.
I still have a problem, but I follow the advice allready given and in
additon , when I have a sleepless night I get up, drink a glass of warm
milk, eat a bowl of grits (I'm a yankee from Michigan but have lived in
Tn for 39 years), then turn on the local public radio station and listen
to classical music which is very soothing and helps to pass the time.
Many times that will help me to get a little more sleep. Also, go to the
library and get a book on sleep, that might give you some more ideas.
Good Luck
