Dear Diane
Tolcapone assists the transport of the levodopa (Sinemet/Madopar)to the
brain and if you do not reduce your intake of levodopa by around 20% the
combination could cause quite vivid dreams or hallucinations as well as
Dyskinesia. Your intial intake should be carefully monitored by your
Neuro'. I was involved with Tolcapone/Tasmar as a member of the advisory
board and people on high doses of levodopa or prone to hallucinations
were handled carefully by their Doctors.
Incidentally, Roche are launching the drug next weekend at Ayers Rock
with 75 leading Australian Neurologists, Kangaroos and Dingoes.
