In Africa in the 70's several Class A Hotels recommended Thiamine hydrochloride (B-1) as a mosquito bite preventative. The brochures claimed that the resulting body odor warded off the insects. Never tried it, but... Merck recommends taking B-1 for polyneuropathies until the saturation point is reached. ..indicated by a strong odor is in the urine.
