Yes, I have seen occasional mention in scientific journals of the past few years, but don't recall keeping a reference as the disease is so far from interest to me and listmembers. I believe it is thought to come from a particular food staple of the islanders, or perhaps an inherited trait. Should be easy to get literature citations via Pub Med- have you tried that?
